What is a prophet of God? What are they SUPPOSED to be?

In the Old Testament, prophets were called by God...and they KNEW IT. They never needed someone else to say "Oh yeah..you are a prophet". God was always very very clear about who He was and what He wanted. Look at Moses..God said "remove your shoes you are on Holy Ground"...that is sure sign GOD is speaking to you. Moses, before he was called, was NOT the best person. He murdered a man..was somewhat hot headed..BUT AFTERWARDS, EVERYTHING changed..this is true with EVERY prophet. Every cell in his body was changed into a man of God. No more murdering etc.
Now let's look at Muhammed: Muhammed had NO clue who was speaking to him and why. He insisted he was demon possessed. His wife had to tell him he was. Muhammed, before this "revelation", was a bad man: murderer, rapist etc. He was NOT a dude you would invite over for supper. Afterwards, he was STILL a bad man. NOTHING about Muhammed ever changed. In fact, he got WORSE b/c he said "allah says I can do it".
Muhammed performed NO miracles, gave no real revelations, did NOT change who he was and made excuses for his behavior. Muhammed was NO prophet..he was a CULT LEADER. God does NOT call people and have them CONTINUE in their evil acts. Muhammed was no more a prophet than my computer is.
